JURY DUTY?!

Well, it was inevitable that I would move and get my new license and immediately get a summons for jury duty. This has happened to me since I turned 18. Got my first summons within days of turning 18 and at every address change since. Twice I've been chosen to actually sit on a jury. I am going to try and get out of it, so cross your fingers for me. Since being pregnant is one of the valid excuses for dismissal, as is being a stay-at-home parent to a child under the age of 6, I am hoping my written-in excuse of bein on maternity leave and breastfeeding an infant is acceptable as well.

Ugh! I hope you can get out of it. That would just be too much at this point. I find it amazing how some people seem to get called all the time and some people NEVER get called. My mother-in-law did federal, then got county, and then got federal again all within a year! My mother, on the other hand, has never been called. I only liked doing it when I did because I had it the week I was back to work after my summer off. So, I got a few extra days away from the old library. You must be one popular gal! ;)

Your reason for being out is totally valid and I think it's against the law for them to call you in if you have a kid at home. Doesn't count if you work and have a kid though. Randy's lived here for 10 years and has never been called. I've been called twice, both times right after getting a new license. They say it's fair, I totally don't believe it.
